    Agritech Skills Instructor

    20-30 hours per week
    Start Date: Early December
    (Contract - 4.5 months)

    Description:

    The Agritech Instructor will help plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program for students.

    Our preferred candidate is someone who possesses a master’s in agricultural education or bachelor’s degree in related field with a graduate certificate in agricultural education.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of their field or discipline.

    Connect their subject matter with related fields.

    Coordinate with guest speakers to present material.

    Learn and use technologies to enhance teaching and the educational experience when appropriate.

    Teach a course load appropriate to their field or discipline.

    Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize students learning.

    Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students needs.

    Contribute to the selection and development of instructional materials in accordance with course objectives.

    Prepare, distribute, and submit syllabi and approved course outlines for assigned sections in accordance with program.

    Maintain confidentiality of student information.

    Contribute to program and division curriculum development.

    Competencies/Skills/Abilities:

    Intermediate to advanced computer skills

    Strong interpersonal skills

    Creative, innovative, able to work independently, and in a team environment

    Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines, and targets

    Tools and equipment:

    Computer for word processing, email, spreadsheets, presentations (MAC or PC, depending on your preference)

    Software includes: Google apps, Canva, various other design software

    Standard office equipment such as: printers, photocopiers, cell phone, audio visual equipment

    Business Skills Instructor

    20-30 hours per week
    Start Date: Early December
    (Contract - 4.5 months)

    Description: 

    The Business Skills Instructor will help plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program for students.

    Our preferred candidate is someone with: 

    a degree in a related field, with at least two years in a corporate leadership role or three years’ experience in degree level teaching at a university or college or five years’ previous teaching experience at a postsecondary level and/or adult training experience

    Specific Responsibilities:

    Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of their field or discipline.

    Connect their subject matter with related fields.

    Coordinate with guest speakers to present material.

    Learn and use technologies to enhance teaching and the educational experience when appropriate.

    Teach a course load appropriate to their field or discipline.

    Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize students learning.

    Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students needs.

    Distribute, and submit syllabi and approved course outlines for assigned sections in accordance with program.

    Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills

    Proven ability to contribute to, and work in, a positive team environment and to foster the same in their students
